Fast electrical repairs in Brussels, Walloon and Flemish Brabant, 7 days a week
Total power cut, a breaker that keeps tripping, a burning smell. We come out quickly in Brussels, Walloon Brabant and Flemish Brabant, including evenings and weekends. We work in English.
Call-out from €150 incl. VAT, travel and first hour included.
If the power goes
An electrical fault does not wait. Total power cut, a socket that no longer works, an RCD that keeps tripping, a consumer unit that heats up: in every case, calling is better than tinkering. The phone is still the fastest way to reach us.
Before we arrive
What you can safely do
A few simple steps, and above all the ones not to take.
- Burning smell, smoke, blackened plastic? Switch off the main breaker immediately, ventilate, and call us. Do not open the consumer unit.
- An RCD that trips again straight away points to a real fault. Do not force it by resetting it over and over, you would only make things worse.
- Check whether the outage is total or partial. Just one circuit, or the whole house? Are your neighbours in the dark too? This information saves us time.
- Do not touch anything wet near a consumer unit or socket, and never work on an installation without switching it off.
If your neighbours are affected too, the problem comes from the grid, not from your home. You need to contact your grid operator (Sibelga in Brussels, ORES in Walloon Brabant, Fluvius in Flemish Brabant), and we will tell you so on the phone rather than come out for nothing.
Going further: our guide to common electrical faults (in French) explains, fault by fault, what you can safely check yourself before calling us.
What we do
What we repair
- Total or partial power cut, tracing the source of the fault.
- Short circuit and RCD tripping for no apparent reason.
- Socket, switch or circuit out of order.
- Consumer unit heating up, faulty breaker, undersized protection.
- Lighting that no longer works, fitting and replacing light fittings (in French).
- Water damage affecting the installation.
We arrive with common parts, so we can often fix things on the spot rather than come back another day.
Client review
“Competent, honest and available!!! Tapelec bent over backwards to help me bring my bathroom into compliance, with plenty of good advice. I got my certificate of compliance without any trouble, despite the many constraints at the start. They also came out quickly on a Sunday evening for a power cut and agreed to move my pendant lights. A thousand thanks for your support, kindness and expertise.”

Your questions
What people ask us on the phone
Yes, regularly. Two of our clients mention it in their Google reviews: a call-out on a Sunday evening in both cases.
We are not an emergency service available around the clock, and we prefer to tell you so frankly rather than promise the impossible. Call, and we will tell you honestly how soon we can come.
From €150 incl. VAT, travel and first hour included (6% VAT for homes over 10 years old). Replacement parts and extra time are added if tracing the fault takes longer.
Unlike a compliance job, a repair is priced mainly on the time spent and the parts replaced. The difficulty is that nobody knows in advance how long tracing the fault will take.
So we tell you our terms on the phone, before we set off. You know where you stand before we ring your doorbell.
A breaker that trips is doing its job: it protects you. The problem is never the breaker itself, it is whatever makes it react.
Common causes are an overload, a faulty appliance, an insulation fault in the wiring, or moisture that has got in somewhere. A tripping RCD rather points to current leaking to earth, which deserves a diagnosis without delay.
What you must not do: reset it over and over, or worse, replace it with a higher-rated one. You would remove the protection without removing the fault.
A simple repair, replacing a faulty switch or breaker, does not trigger a new inspection.
However, if the fault reveals that part of your installation has to be redone, or if we have to replace your consumer unit, it becomes a significant modification and an inspection is then required. We will tell you on site, before committing to anything.
Yes, and it is very useful. A photo of your open consumer unit, or of the area concerned, often lets us identify the problem before leaving and bring the right part.
The fastest way is to send it on WhatsApp. You can also attach photos to the contact form. Take the photo with the power off if you have the slightest doubt.
A fault right now?
The phone is still the fastest. We will tell you frankly how soon we can come, and whether the problem really comes from your home.
