Installation of charging points in Brussels and Walloon Brabant
We install all brands. Power study, installation, commissioning and compliance control included.
In brief
Charging an electric car on a standard domestic socket is not designed to last. A full charge uses the circuit for hours at full intensity, which the wiring of a house was not designed to support. A charging point, or failing that a reinforced socket, exists precisely for that.
Our intervention
From power study to commissioning
A charging point is not simply screwed to the wall. Here is what we take care of.
- The power study. We check what your connection and your panel can actually absorb, and if reinforcement is necessary.
- The dedicated circuit and its protection. A clean line from the panel, correctly sized, with differential protection suitable for charging.
- The choice of equipment. We present you with the options that suit your situation, and you decide with full knowledge.
- The installation. Fixing, wiring and connection, at home as well as at a workplace.
- Load management. If your power is limited, a balancing system prevents the meter from tripping when the oven and the charging point are running at the same time.
- Commissioning and control. We test the installation and arrange for the approved body to come.
You don't have to choose alone. We come to see your installation, and we tell you what really suits you.
Your questions
What our clients ask us before getting started
It depends on four things, in this order:
- Your mileage. Few trips and a car that sleeps at home? A slow solution is more than enough.
- Your installation. A single-phase meter limits the possible power. Three-phase opens up higher speeds.
- Your solar panels. If you have them, a charger capable of using the surplus really changes the bill.
- Your electricity contract. With a variable rate, a charger that charges during off-peak hours pays for itself.
That's exactly what we look at during the visit.
It's a real option, and we offer it when it's sufficient. It costs significantly less and charges safely on a dedicated circuit.
The reinforced socket is suitable if: you drive little, the car stays plugged in all night, your available power is limited, or you want to test before investing more.
The charger becomes necessary if: you drive every day, you have two vehicles, you need to charge quickly between trips, you want to control the charge from an app, or you are equipping a workplace.
The speed difference is significant: a reinforced socket can take an entire night where a charging point does the job in a few hours.
Almost always a little, sometimes a lot. The most common cases are:
- A dedicated circuit. Mandatory. The charging point must have its own line from the distribution board, with nothing else on it.
- An appropriate protection. Charging generates direct currents that a standard residual current device does not always detect. Specific protection is necessary.
- Space in the distribution board. A saturated board must be extended or replaced.
- Sometimes a power upgrade with your network operator, if your current connection is insufficient.
If the upgrade is expected to be costly, dynamic load management is often a cheaper alternative: the charging point automatically reduces its power when the rest of the house is consuming.
If you have them on hand, they save us time:
- The model of your car, and the charging power it accepts.
- Your approximate mileage per week.
- Single-phase or three-phase, and the amperage indicated on your meter.
- The distance between your electrical panel and the location of the charging point.
- Indoor, garage, or outdoor exposed to the elements.
- The presence of photovoltaic panels and a battery.
- Your type of electricity contract, fixed or variable.
And if you do not have any of this information, it does not matter. We will take the readings ourselves on site.
Yes. The addition of a charging point is a significant modification to your electrical installation, and it must be checked by an approved body.
This is not a formality to be overlooked: a charging point installed without inspection can compromise the compliance of your entire installation, with the consequences this entails for your insurance in the event of a claim.
As with our other projects, we include this check in our quote and we will arrange the appointment ourselves. You have no steps to take.
No, a charging point is not limited to white. Most models are available in at least white and black, and some ranges offer more shades or interchangeable facades.
This is not a trivial detail: a charging point is often installed on the facade, clearly visible from the street. It should match your building.
The colours actually available vary depending on the model and the time. Let us know what you are looking for and we will check what is possible.
Yes, provided you choose a charging point capable of doing so and equip it with the necessary measurement.
The principle: rather than injecting your surplus into the grid, the charging point detects it and sends it to the car. It modulates its power according to production, and pauses when a cloud passes if you wish.
It is often what makes the installation profitable the quickest. We will guide you towards a model that manages this function.
The installation itself usually takes place in one day when the board is close to the location and no heavy modifications are necessary.
Count on more time if the cable needs to cross the house, if the board needs to be extended, or if a power upgrade with the network manager is necessary. In this last case, it is the administrative delay that dictates, not us.
In addition, there is the appointment with the control body, which we organise as soon as the work is completed.
When in doubt, we come to see.
You do not have to decide alone between a reinforced socket and a charging point, nor between several models. We come to you, we look at your board, your meter and the location, and we provide you with a clear quote, including the inspection.
